Board approves personnel changes and minutes during July 31 special meeting

Trustees approved minutes of June 16, 2025, accepted two resignations, and approved several employment and reassignment recommendations including hires for therapy, counseling, policing and teaching roles.
The VAN ISD Board approved minutes of the June 16, 2025 meeting by a motion from S. Johnson, seconded by M. Johnson; the ayes were Anderson, Goode, Hightower, M. Johnson and S. Johnson.
The Board also approved resignations from Brittany Owens (Teacher) and Amanda Weiss (Counselor) and approved employment/reassignment recommendations for Leslie Luce (Occupational Therapist), Sean Waterman (Police Officer), Amanda Hornsby (Teacher), Brilee Daughtry (Teacher) and Marcie Hutchins (Counselor). The personnel motion for employment was recorded as moved by Campbell and seconded by Horton; ayes were Anderson, Goode, Hightower, M. Johnson and Horton and no nays were recorded.
