"As you know, we've been, over the last few years, talking about, should we stay in the SEC, move from the SEC?" he said, noting current uncertainty and that the district is monitoring interest from other schools before making any recommendation.
Board members raised scheduling, travel and competitive-balance concerns and asked for further analysis. Shaw said the timeline under consideration targets a fall‑2026 transition if the board decides to proceed, and the board agreed to continue discussion at future meetings before any formal vote.
