Committee agrees to move council payment approvals to consent agenda

City Administrator Adam Jasinski asked the Finance Committee whether payment approval for previously approved purchases and contracts should be moved to the consent agenda in place of being read aloud during council committee reports. The committee agreed that once the City Council has approved a purchase or contract, routine payment approval need not be reread by the committee chairman and can be included on the consent agenda.
The change is procedural and intended to streamline council meetings by reducing repetitive reading of previously authorized items. The committee did not adopt formal procedural language during the meeting; implementation will follow existing consent-agenda rules and standard council practice for consent items.
Committee members recorded consensus on the approach and did not indicate objections during the Feb. 10 meeting.
