North Riverside reviews finances, approves cash receipts and schedules 17th Street water main work

Trustees unanimously approved the Village's Cash Receipts Report for February 2026 totaling $2,242,054.53 and approved the list of bills dated March 11, 2026 totaling $941,638.05.
Finance Director Ryan Lawler presented a budget-to-actual summary through Feb. 28, 2026, highlighting year-to-date municipal sales tax receipts ($3,696,292 of a $6,360,000 budget, 58.12% collected) and other state-shared revenues. He noted property tax receipts were impacted by delayed second-installment tax bills but that the Village had collected approximately 95% of the 2024 tax levy through February. Lawler also reported that $650,000 had been budgeted this fiscal year for watermain replacements but, based on project timelines, no costs will be incurred this year and the funds will be carried into FY2027; construction on the 17th Street replacement was anticipated to begin in May and finish late summer.
Public Works and water system planning items were discussed in the Public Works report, and staff indicated that lead service-line replacements would be included where applicable. Trustees did not vote separately on the 17th Street work at this meeting; the motion recorded in the minutes covered the cash receipts and bill approvals.
