North Riverside Board adopts 2026 Comprehensive Plan

The Village of North Riverside Board of Trustees on March 16 approved an ordinance adopting the 2026 North Riverside Comprehensive Plan (26-O-12). Trustee Bianco moved the ordinance and Trustee Tricoci seconded; the roll call vote was unanimous and the motion carried.
The Comprehensive Plan was presented to the Board as a framework for land use, development priorities and grant-readiness. Community Development Director Pete Hughes and Village Administrator Sue Scarpiniti provided the request for Board action; the Joint Planning Commission had held a public hearing on the plan on February 19 and recommended unanimous approval with public comments incorporated. Adoption of the plan was described by trustees as necessary groundwork to qualify for state and federal grants and to guide future development decisions in the Village.
The ordinance was recorded as 26-O-12 and becomes part of the Village code and planning record. The Board took no separate amendments during the meeting and approved the plan by unanimous vote.
