Pleasant Prairie Board accepts Exeter stipulation, allows waivers to circuit court for multiple properties

The Board reviewed objections filed by Exeter-related entities and heard from assessment staff that subpoenas had been issued and largely complied with. Assessment counsel and Exeter's attorney confirmed a signed stipulation between the taxpayer and the village assessor that would set one parcel's assessed value at $5,270,900 (land $499,800; improvements $4,771,100). The Board voted to approve the stipulation.
Board counsel also described that the parties jointly requested waivers of further Board hearings for several Exeter parcels so taxpayers could instead pursue circuit-court review. The Board read the parcel numbers and assessed values into the record, confirmed the stipulations and then voted to grant the waivers. A board attorney noted that approving the stipulation does not remove the taxpayer’s right to seek additional reduction in circuit court.
