Commission authorizes amendment to Orange County radio encryption key MOU

The Winter Garden City Commission authorized an amendment to the Orange County Intergovernmental Radio System encryption-key memorandum of understanding on March 13, 2025, allowing the St. Cloud Police Department to access Orange County encrypted Metro radio channels in emergencies.
Police Chief Steve Graham told the commission the access would permit interagency communications during emergency responses and recommended authorizing the Mayor and Police Chief to execute the amendment. Commissioner Iliana R. Jones moved to authorize execution; Commissioner Lisa L. Bennett seconded and the motion carried unanimously, 5-0.
