Board approves consent items and adopts TASB Policy Update 123
Summary

The White Settlement Independent School District Board of Trustees approved its consent agenda and separately adopted TASB Policy Update 123 at its Sept. 16, 2024 meeting. A motion to approve consent items 1–4 and 6–11 carried with six Ayes and zero Nays; consent items covered the August 19 regular meeting minutes, August expenditures, amended budgets, an MOU with the YMCA for the Blue Haze After School Program, several vendor ratifications (including smartboards and asbestos abatement), the district police MOU with the City of White Settlement, and ratifying the purchase of SameGoal Special Education/504 software.
Policy Update 123, which had been pulled from the consent agenda for separate consideration, was moved by Trustee Amanda Sanchez and seconded by Dr. Jeremy Lelek; the motion carried with five Ayes and one Abstention. The instruction sheets attached to the agenda note numerous code actions (replace, add, delete) across local and legal policy codes as part of the TASB Localized Policy Manual Update 123.
