Justin updated the board that golf, historically a spring sport, will be held in the fall this school year and that the board has adopted an allowance for dual-sport student-athletes to list golf as a secondary sport.
As Justin explained, "So new policy that adopted, that golf there will there will be an allowance for dual student dual, sport athletes." Under the approach described, a student's primary sport (football, soccer, cross-country or volleyball) takes precedence for practice and games; golf can be designated as a secondary sport with certain roster and match participation caveats.
Board members debated logistical effects: whether seat time and classroom impact increase, how coaches and students should coordinate, and rostering limits when multiple sports overlap. Members also discussed longer-term enrollment trends, potential partnerships with neighboring districts to sustain teams, and transportation challenges for combined teams. No immediate policy change was finalized; members said they would continue monitoring the impact as schedules and section alignments settle.
