The Quillayute Valley School District board voted to adopt several handbooks and a coaches' agreement for the 2026–27 school year. Motions passed by voice vote to approve: the QVSD student/parent handbook, the Homeschool Plus student/parent handbook, the athletic & activities handbook, the personnel handbook, and the Forks Coaches Association agreement. Diana and other staff said the changes were minor and intended to align district documents with state law and current practice.
Diana said the district will convene a stakeholder committee to revisit valedictorian/salutatorian criteria to ensure fair implementation alongside the new dual-credit offerings. The board approved the items in a single session, and staff will implement the updated language and communicate changes to families and employees.
The board noted there were no monetary changes to the coaches' salary schedule and that program consistency and legal alignment were principal goals of the updates.
