The Wink-Loving ISD Board of Trustees met May 13 and approved the consent agenda and five administrative actions affecting district operations and employee compensation.
Trustee Melissa Halterman moved to accept the minutes from the April 14 regular meeting, and Trustee Jerome Dewberry seconded; the item carried with a unanimous vote. The board also approved the April tax collection report presented by Tax Assessor/Collector Sarah Wilkinson, noting April collections totaled $171,866.25, and accepted financial reports showing April bills totaling $555,458.96.
On separate motions the board unanimously voted to adopt the district housing rent structure for 2025–26, approve a contract for services with Region 18 Educational Service Center, give a 5% general pay increase to all WLISD employees for 2025–26, approve recommended personnel hires, and authorize a MacBook upgrade for teachers. Trustee Jerome Dewberry moved approval of the housing rent schedule; Trustee Melissa Halterman moved approval of the Region 18 contract; Trustee Carrie Purcell moved the pay increase; Trustee Dewberry moved to approve hiring personnel as presented; and Trustee Raymond Dodd moved to approve the MacBook upgrade. Each motion carried by unanimous vote with one trustee absent.
