Highway superintendent told to proceed with chassis order to save $25k–$30k; delivery expected 2027

Wyatt Boswell, highway superintendent, briefed the board on highway operations. He reported truck repairs, attendance at Highway School in Ithaca and that employee Evan attended additional sewer training with two tests remaining. The board recorded that 15‑minute parking signs, park barriers, a speed bump and signage have been installed and that dirt roads have been graded and sprayed. Wyatt said he is investigating large sand ridges as a town sand source and looking into reclamation of the sand pit on Pollock Road; the minutes say reclamation is one‑third complete.
The board discussed ordering a chassis for a plow truck now to realize an estimated $25,000–$30,000 savings if ordered by the end of the year; delivery would not occur until 2027.
