Palos Pool phase 2 and Orchard Park Barn construction expected next year, staff say

Director Matt Fairbanks told the Recreation Committee the department completed OSLAD-funded improvements to Palos Pool in 2025, including bath house and locker room upgrades, an additional slide, a dry play area and pool-decking improvements. He said those 2025 improvements followed an OSLAD grant and related park facility work across Veteran’s Park, Crawford Park and Orchard Park.
Fairbanks said the department hopes to complete construction on the Orchard Park Barn and the second phase of the Palos Pool project within the next year and that staff plan to apply for another OSLAD grant to fund part of the work. No formal vote was taken; the update was provided as part of the department’s annual report to the committee.
