Planning commission approves minutes and re-elects officers; sets Feb. 23 public hearing

At the Jan. 26 meeting the Kearney County Joint Planning Commission conducted two formal actions. Malcom Dornhoff moved to approve the Oct. 14, 2025 minutes; Jody Casper seconded and the motion passed with the following recorded ayes: Tom Anderson, Terry Buettner, Jody Casper, Malcom Dornhoff, John Harris, Bennett Petersen, Kevin Raun and Dawn Thompson. Patty Lundeen was absent.
Later the board elected officers for 2026. Jody Casper moved to retain Dawn Thompson as chair, John Harris as vice chair and Carrie Favinger as secretary; the motion was seconded and carried on the same recorded ayes with Patty Lundeen absent. The commission also announced that its next meeting, scheduled for Feb. 23, 2026 at 6 p.m., will be a public hearing; speakers wishing to present exhibits must provide 12 copies.
