5Essentials survey shows gains in leadership and family involvement; Supportive Environment flagged for improvement

Cathy Park, Director of Assessment and Accountability, presented West Chicago ESD 33's 5Essentials survey results spanning 2022–2026. Park reported that Effective Leaders and Involved Families rose from weak to strong categories over the period and that Ambitious Instruction and Collaborative Teachers showed overall gains. The district identified Supportive Environment as an area needing continued attention after declines during the post-pandemic period.
Park also noted participation details: five of seven schools met the 20% participation threshold for the parent supplemental survey. District leaders said individual schools used a recent data retreat to set new goals and that the district will launch a mid‑year pulse survey to monitor progress and school climate improvements.
