The Winona Independent School District Board of Trustees voted April 7, 2025, to interview seven applicants for the district's open superintendent position. The board reconvened at 6:59 p.m. after an executive session held under Texas Government Code §551.074 and approved the interviews by unanimous vote.
According to the meeting minutes, "The Board voted to interview 7 candidate for Superintendent spot." Trustee Aaron Wilson made the motion to interview seven candidates and Trustee Mark Wintters seconded; the minutes record that the vote of the board was unanimous and the decision carried. The executive session immediately preceding the vote was convened for consideration of superintendent applications.
The special-called meeting began at 6:00 p.m. at the Winona Administration Building and was attended by Board President Connie Gibbs and trustees Diane Newman, Scott Jones, William Allen, Randy Hawkins, Aaron Wilson and Mark Wintters, along with Interim Superintendent Mike Morrison and district staff. The minutes state that the meeting adjourned at 7:06 p.m. and that those minutes were approved on April 21, 2025.
