Presenter told the board that West Virginia University has added chemistry to the WACCESS program and that a local teacher was cleared to teach the course, which will provide college credit at no cost to participating students. The presenter called the addition "a win for Tucker County High School" and asked for the board's approval to add the course to the local offerings.
"West Virginia University has added, chemistry to their WACCESS program, and missus Dodson was able to get approved to teach that course," the presenter said. The board moved to add the new electives, including a proposed poetry course aligned to West Virginia standards; the presenter noted that some courses will require Department of Education submission and approval prior to being published in the policy/curriculum listings.
