The Wink-Loving ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously on March 20 to select a Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) as the preferred delivery method for projects proposed in the district's May 3, 2025 bond election.
Administration reminded the board that the district previously approved an order for a $100 million bond comprised of four measures: $85 million for general projects including a gymnasium, field house, special education/DAEP facilities, practice field cover, paving, buses, FFA facility and turf upgrades; $7.5 million for a fine arts facility; $5.0 million for pool renovations; and $2.5 million for housing. "I recommend the Board Approve Selection of a Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) as the Preferred Construction Delivery Method for the May 2025 Bond Project," the administration said during the item presentation.
Trustee Carrie Purcell moved to approve the selection; Trustee Jerome Dewberry seconded and the motion carried with a unanimous vote of the trustees present. The motion does not itself award a construction contract; it approves a delivery method so the district can proceed with procurement steps tied to the bond program.
Next steps outlined by administration include finalizing procurement documents and working with the district's architect, WRA Architects, to prepare for contractor selection if voters approve the bond on May 3, 2025.
