The Business Finance and Budget Committee voted to accept a proposal for professional auditing services from Sikich LLP after a competitive process, finance staff said.
"Our incumbent Sikich came in as the lowest responsible bidder at a 10.2% reduction over this year's fee," said Steph from finance, who added the village will require Sikich to rotate the field audit team so that different auditors handle the village's field work in order to provide a fresh look at the books. Committee discussion clarified the contract structure is for a five‑year period and that the agreement is open such that the village may terminate the engagement if needed.
Committee members moved the item to the council consent agenda. No public testimony was recorded on the contract selection.
