Council delays full recodification and eyes smaller code updates amid staff transitions

“That project will probably take at least 2 years to do,” said the clerk walking the council through the scope, adding staff recommended delaying the work while departments manage other transitions.
City Attorney Clay Martin cautioned on timing: "There are just a lot of moving parts right now. And to layer this on top of that, I think, may overly tax the system." Councilors generally expressed support for deferring the full sweep and instead using targeted ordinance readings to correct sections as they arise.
Council directed staff to remove the $30,000 recodification amount from the current council budget and to return with pricing and timing options for future budget cycles.
