Whitney ISD board approves two property bids, authorizes EpiPen administration and hires staff member

The Whitney Independent School District Board of Trustees on Sept. 9 approved two separate property bids and took multiple personnel and policy actions during a regular meeting held at the district administration building.
Amy Hoffman moved to "approve the Property Bid of Lots 126 & 127 of Lake Whitney Estates No. 1 in the amount of $22,087.14 from England Samuels," a motion that was seconded and carried unanimously. Separately, Jason Sneed moved to approve "the property bid of Lot 118 of Loma Linda subdivision in the amount of $7,956.59 to Florina Mata Medina," which also passed unanimously. Together the two approvals total $30,043.73.
The board also voted to allow authorized personnel to administer EpiPens as necessary; Amy Hoffman made the motion and Katie Foster seconded. Later in the meeting, after a closed session, trustees approved the hire of Christopher Roberts (motion by Jason Sneed; second by Ray Watson), and the meeting adjourned at 7:50 PM. Enrollment for the district was reported at 1,435 during the superintendent's report earlier in the meeting.
The votes on recorded motions were unanimous; no public comments were offered during the meeting's public comment period. The board signed the meeting minutes and the record shows Charles Buzan as board president and Ray Watson as secretary.
