Rosemont OKs Comcast franchise agreement, tightens underground cable replacement rule

The Village of Rosemont approved Ordinance 2025-2-10A granting a cable franchise agreement with Comcast of Illinois VI, LLC, a motion that Trustee Jack Dorgan moved and trustees approved unanimously on Feb. 10.
On the same motion calendar the board approved Ordinance 2025-2-10B amending Section 11-1-3 of the Village Code to specify that underground conduit holding television, streaming or internet cable must, absent a waiver, be replaced by cable installed in that existing conduit. Both measures passed 6-0 (Ayes: Price, Minale, Dorgan, Fazio, Pappas, DiMatteo).
