Public works outlines park expansion, hydrant maintenance and new cameras

Public-works staff told the council the city is doubling the size of a neighborhood park and plans to install new equipment including chin-up bars and a spinner; timber placement was expected in the next day or two with equipment installation to follow. "We're doubling the size of the park," the presenter said.
Staff also described a multi-year hydrant maintenance program for 2026–27: inspect and exercise every hydrant this year to determine repair needs, then schedule repairs in 2027. Separately, the city finalized a contract for a four-head camera system at the pickleball courts to monitor the parking lot and trail approaches; installation was expected in roughly three weeks.
Staff additionally reported ongoing road-sign replacements and other public-works maintenance items scheduled across the summer and into next year.
