District Administrator Erica Schley framed the levy as necessary to operate the district, saying, "The Board of Education has determined that a tax levy of $2,379,692 is necessary to operate the School District." During public questions, community member Zenny Mahun asked why the levy rate fell from 9.13% in 2021–22 to 5.73% a few years ago; Schley suggested that changes in state aid could explain the variation and recommended consulting older revenue limit worksheets for specifics. Ted Alberson also noted the mill rate decreased when district debt was paid off.
