Board to meet as Committee of the Whole Jan. 8 to review student handbooks; no recommendations from Dec. 4 meeting

The Mineral Point Unified School District Policy Committee recommended that the January committee meeting be converted to a "Committee of the Whole" to allow all board trustees to take part in reviewing student handbooks. The proposed date for that meeting was Wednesday, Jan. 8. The recommendation is intended to ensure all board members can participate in a comprehensive handbook review ahead of formal policy updates.
At the conclusion of the Dec. 4 meeting, the policy committee reported it had no recommendations for the full board as a result of that session and adjourned at 6:22 p.m. Committee members set a work plan to review selected policy language between Dec. 5 and Feb. 5 and to return proposed edits to the committee for discussion on Feb. 5, after which recommendations for a first reading would be prepared for a future full-board meeting.
