McFarland School Board adopts multiple personnel, leave and student policies on second reading

At the Oct. 6 meeting the McFarland School Board approved the second reading and adoption of multiple district policies recommended by administration. The motion was made by Megan Chatman and seconded by Meredith Hughey; the motion carried 4-0.
The list adopted included policy 0100 (Definitions); 0144.5 (Board Member Behavior, Communications, and Code of Conduct); 0166.1 (Consent Agenda); 1461 (Unrequested Leaves of Absence/Fitness for Duty); 3120.08 (Employment of Personnel for Co-Curricular/Extra Curricular Activities); 3431 and 4431 (Short Term Leaves of Absence); 3432 and 4432 (Employee Sick Leave); 4124 (Letter of Reasonable Assurance); 4213 (Student Supervision and Welfare); 5112 (Entrance Age); 5464 (Early Graduation); and 5451.02 (Technical Excellence Higher Education Scholarship). The board approved the package on a single motion as recorded in the meeting minutes.
Board President Meghan Fessler presided during the vote. The adoptions will be implemented according to district procedures and any subsequent administrative steps noted in board materials.
