Commissioners agreed it would be appropriate to express the commission's preference that the house be preserved where feasible and to request the trust consider separating the house parcel in the RFP process so preservation or sale is possible. Several members suggested asking for a one-year demolition delay to allow time for salvage, outreach to preservation buyers, or other mitigation; the commission did not adopt a formal motion at the meeting but agreed to communicate its preservation preference to the Affordable Housing Trust.
