Commission confirms order for two historic markers; DPW to handle installation

Commissioners discussed technical details for setting the markers: DPW will dig the hole (about 3 feet), backfill with crushed stone to provide drainage and compact the base, then place the marker. Andrew described the markers' size and handling needs: "They're between 600 and 700 pounds according to the guy at Swenson," and reported Swenson advised DPW could drill into the granite face to set mechanical attachments. Chair noted the order appears placed and asked Andrew to confirm a delivery date with Bob, so DPW can schedule the work. The commission agreed DPW should coordinate DigSafe marking and site windows before installation.
