Residents press Madrid board for ditching, timed parking and park fencing
Summary
Public commenters asked the board to coordinate ditching work with the county, to add 20-minute parking in the Mainstreet Market lot, and to survey and fence the town park to keep vehicles out; staff agreed to look into parking signs and residents identified the Jaquith solar project as awaiting SEQR review.

Multiple residents used the public-comment period at the April 9 meeting to raise local concerns.
Greg Hargrave asked about a public hearing (see moratorium item). Harry Garvey asked about the Jaquith solar project and was told the town is awaiting a SEQR determination. Bill Hull urged town-and-county cooperation to get ditching done on North Street to Elm Street. Amanda Barkley asked for 20-minute parking spaces in the Mainstreet Market lot; the minutes say Wyatt will look into obtaining signs for three parking spots. Tammy Hawkins recommended the town survey the park and install a fence to keep four-wheelers and other vehicles from grassy areas.
The minutes record these requests and staff follow-up items (parking signs to be researched; no formal motion recorded on ditching or park fencing at this meeting).
