Village Clerk Jerry Menard administered the oath to two newly hired investigators, Joel Boeving and Tyler Howes, at the July 7 board meeting.
Trustee James (Mike) Blaies moved the motion to end Laura Gavin’s probation (effective June 19); Trustee Ramon Matchett Jr. seconded and the motion passed on a roll call of 5 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent. Later, Trustee Blaies moved to recommend hiring two apprentice linemen — Dominic Ammons and Luke Freppon — contingent on successful physical and drug tests; Trustee Dana Miller seconded and the motion passed 5–0 with one trustee absent. Public Works Director John Tolan said both hires completed lineman school and were scheduled to start on July 28.
