The Village of Freeburg Board of Trustees approved a series of four intergovernmental agreements with local schools to provide a school resource officer (SRO) and police coverage for after‑school events.
Mayor Seth Speiser read the resolutions on the agenda. The board adopted Resolution #25-09 to authorize an SRO agreement with Freeburg Community High School #77 and Resolution #25-10 to authorize police coverage of after‑school events with the same board. The board also adopted Resolution #25-11 (SRO with Freeburg Community Consolidated School District #70) and Resolution #25-12 (after‑school police coverage with District #70). Each resolution was adopted on verbal motions with roll calls recorded as 5 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent.
Trustee James (Mike) Blaies moved two of the resolutions and Trustee Dana Miller and Trustee Robert (Bob) Kaiser seconded others as recorded; the minutes do not record contractual terms such as salary or cost-sharing formulas in the motions. The SRO and after‑school coverage agreements were placed on the agenda and approved at this meeting.
