Council approves rear-yard setback variation for deck at 87 Somerset Circle

The Wheaton City Council unanimously adopted Ordinance O-2026-09 on Feb. 17 granting a rear-yard setback variation for property commonly known as 87 Somerset Circle to permit a new deck. City staff reported the approved setbacks reduce the required 25-foot rear-yard distance to 23.1 feet on the south side and 23.75 feet on the north side.
Council votes were recorded as unanimous. City Manager Michael Dzugan indicated the item followed prior direction for the City Attorney to draft an ordinance approving the variation after review at the Feb. 2 meeting.
