Wheaton council shortens on-street parking limit near Faywell construction to two hours

The Wheaton City Council on Feb. 17 unanimously passed Ordinance O-2026-08 revising Chapter 70 (Traffic and Vehicles) to correct technical errors, modify Blue Dot parking signage and shorten the on-street parking limit near the Faywell construction site from four hours to two hours Monday through Friday. City Manager Michael Dzugan told the council the change is intended to “mitigate excessive parking by construction workers” during active work at the site.
Dzugan said the ordinance had a first reading on Feb. 2 and staff will monitor parking behavior and make adjustments if necessary. The roll-call vote recorded all members in favor. The change also included other housekeeping fixes to traffic schedules VI and VIII, according to staff presentation.
