Mamaroneck board completes reorganization, administers oaths to officers

The Mamaroneck Union Free School District board held its reorganization meeting July 1 and administered oaths to officers and approved several appointments for the 2026–27 year. Superintendent Charles Sampson opened the meeting; board members nominated and confirmed officers by voice vote.
“I, Michael Davidson, do solemnly swear that I will support the constitution of The United States and the constitution of the state of New York, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of vice president for the Board of Education,” Michael Davidson recited after his nomination and confirmation. The board also heard the oath from Michelle Metz when she accepted the role of board secretary, and approved Phyllis Chamara as district clerk effective 07/01/2026, with the clerk’s oath to be administered at a future date.
The board approved routine officer appointments and role assignments by voice vote during the meeting, with motions moved, seconded and confirmed. Several appointees — including the treasurer and deputy treasurer — will receive oaths at subsequent times, and the board recorded the appointments in its meeting minutes for the 2026–27 school year.
