The Nevada City Council held a special-session site visit on July 22, 2026, touring three city facilities to review operations and planned improvements. Mayor Carol Branham and council members Amber Barker, Bill Miles, Sim Miller and Mayor Pro Tem Miranda Selby attended; the session was called to order at 7:07 p.m. and adjourned at 8:41 p.m.
Plant Manager Mark Mendenhall led the tour of the Wastewater Treatment Plant at 16517 S. 1338 Rd. and the North Lift Station at 15687 S. 1444 Road, describing facility processes and steps the city takes to maintain compliance with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) during periods of excessive rain. Plant Manager Joe Tipper guided the council through the Water Treatment Plant at 1300 W. Cherry and outlined upcoming improvements the plant needs to support operations. The meeting ended after Councilperson Miranda Selby moved to adjourn and Councilperson Amber Barker seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
