The Alexandria Town Board opened a statutorily required public hearing on the preliminary 2025 town budget, covering general funds and water and sewer districts, and agreed to continue the hearing to a special meeting on Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m. to permit additional information from county staff and finalize adoption. Chair (speaker 1) said the board must adopt the budget by the 20th of the month but preferred to schedule the vote earlier than the deadline and set the follow-up meeting for Nov. 18.
Board members discussed scheduling conflicts and available dates before settling on the Nov. 18 time. The chair said, “So we'll schedule it. We'll at the end of this meeting, we'll adjourn until the 18th at 6 okay?” The continuation preserves the public hearing record while allowing staff to incorporate outstanding county figures and provide additional clarifications at the reconvened meeting.
