Speaker 4 moved to adopt the override and the motion was seconded by Tim; the motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
The action allows the town to proceed from a tentative to a preliminary budget stage while accounting for possible changes to revenues or costs before final adoption. The board signaled the override was a routine procedural step commonly taken when budgets may change in the 30 days before adoption. No immediate changes to tax bills were announced at the meeting; the override simply authorizes the budget process to exceed the statutory cap if required.
