Red Oak ISD board certifies May 2 election, swears in trustees and elects officers

Spencer 395 votes and John Anderson – 622 votes; Place 4: Melanie Hawkins – 446 votes and Johnny Knight – 561 votes; Place 5: Sean Kelly – 842 votes." Johnny Knight moved to approve the canvass and the motion passed by a 7–0 vote.
Following certification, Notary Public Debbie Temple administered the Oath of Office to John Anderson, Johnny Knight, Sean Kelly and Michelle Porter. The Board then elected officers for the 2026–2027 year: Melanie Petersen was re-elected president, Johnny Knight was elected vice president and Sean Kelly was elected secretary. Each officer was approved by a 7–0 vote after nominations and seconding motions.
