Town of Manheim approves air compressor, laptop and truck sander for highway garage

Superintendent of Highways Lloyd Hall told the board that Peckville Road will not be done this year because the contractor is having trouble sourcing required items and that the State paving project on Route 167 will begin soon so the town cannot obtain millings from that project. Hall presented three quotes for an air compressor and recommended the Brown and Randall unit; Councilman Peter Jaikin moved to purchase the Brown and Randall compressor for $3,850.00, seconded by Councilwoman Gressler, and the motion passed with "Ayes All." Hall also asked for a new laptop because "the one that he currently has is not working," and the board approved that purchase on a motion by Councilwoman Gressler, seconded by Councilman Jaikin. The board additionally approved Hall's request to buy a Smith Sander hopper from another Pennsylvania town for $300.00 (motion by Jaikin, second by Snell).
