Mamaroneck school board swears in trustees, elects president and vice president

At its organizational meeting the Mamaroneck Union Free School District board sworn in trustees Erica Wagner and Laurel Ryan, swore Superintendent Michael Burke and District Clerk Mary Ellen Cherra, and elected Helly Catenio as president and Erica Wagner as vice president.
At its organizational meeting, the Mamaroneck Union Free School District board administered oaths to new trustees and district officers and elected board leadership.
Erica Wagner and Laurel Ryan each took the oath of office. As part of her swearing-in, Erica Wagner recited: "I, Erica Wagner, do solemnly swear that I will support the constitution of The United States and the constitution of the state of New York and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of trustee ... to the best of my ability." Superintendent Michael Burke and District Clerk Mary Ellen Cherra also took their oaths during the opening of the meeting.
The board nominated and voted for board officers. After a voice vote the board swore in Helly Catenio as president. Erica Wagner was nominated and sworn in as vice president. The appointments were made by motion and approved by voice vote; the newly elected officers will assume their duties immediately. The meeting proceeded with roll call and then moved on to consent-agenda business.
