Rockdale ISD students raise $13,648.72 in Kids Heart Challenge; board recognizes athletic and staff honors

Rockdale ISD trustees on March 17 recognized students who raised $6,546.84 at the elementary campus and $7,101.88 at the intermediate campus for the Kids Heart Challenge, honored winning Golden Girls drill team placements and academic honors for girls basketball, and named February ROAR staff recipients.
The Rockdale Independent School District Board of Trustees on March 17 recognized student fundraising and athletic achievements across the district. Communications Specialist Kayleigh Whitsel reported elementary students raised $6,546.84 for the Kids Heart Challenge and intermediate students raised $7,101.88; she named the top earners at each campus. Whitsel also noted the Rockdale High School Golden Girls earned 1st Place in Team Kick and 2nd Place in Team Pom and Team Lyrical at a competition in Cedar Park.
Trustees additionally recognized girls basketball players for academic and district honors for the 2024–25 season, and announced February ROAR staff awardees: Elizabeth Johnson, PreK teacher, and Robert Hunter, Transportation Director. The board offered thanks to the students, parents and staff who participated in events supporting student wellness and achievement.
