Board hears $35,700 in 2025 AC repairs, approves gym refinishing and doorknob replacements

"Both the new and old gym floors are being refinished this summer for a total cost of $5,000," she said.
Dobson gave figures for HVAC work: "So far in 2025, the district has spent $35,700 on AC repairs, with an additional $13,000 pending for new installations." She said most units are older and out of warranty and that increased HVAC expenses have caused the district to delay nonessential purchases, citing the floor scrubber as an example. Dobson added that, despite higher repairs, the maintenance budget remains in the black and the district expects to close FY25 without tapping the fund balance.
The board did not vote specifically on the maintenance items during the meeting; they were presented as part of the superintendent's operational update. Trustees asked staff to continue tracking warranty status and to report back if any single repair would materially change the planned budgets.
