The Princeton ISD Board of Trustees unanimously adopted the 2024–2025 budget at its Aug. 19 meeting. Trustee John Campbell moved to adopt the budget “as presented,” and the motion passed unanimously.
During the same hearing the board voted to raise the property tax rate. Board President Cyndi Darland moved that "the property tax rate be increased by the adoption of a tax rate of 1.2552, which is effectively an 8.38 percent increase in the tax rate." John Campbell seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The minutes record that a public meeting on the proposed budget and tax rate was held at 7:18 p.m. and that no individuals spoke during that meeting. The board also approved a related budget amendment, again by unanimous vote.
