Letters signed by Interim Superintendent Jeff Pesta in the board packet informed bidders that Pan‑O‑Gold Baking Company (bread) and Como Oil & Propane (transportation fuel) had the district’s tentative awards for the 2024–25 school year. The letters say each proposal met advertised RFP requirements and the awards will be formally presented to the board on Sept. 9. Contracts are retroactive to Sept. 1, 2024 and run through Aug. 31, 2025 with an option to renew annually for up to three additional years by mutual agreement.
The bread RFP specified whole-grain school breads and related products and required nutrition information and scheduled delivery to the Wrenshall School; the fuel RFP required composite price and delivery fees and delivery coordination with Transportation Coordinator Kirk Hill. The packet also includes the bid instructions and the procurement timetable: sealed proposals were due Aug. 16 with a public bid opening on Aug. 19.
Board materials say the awards were made based on best-value criteria (nutritional compliance and value for bread; available fuels, composite price and delivery fees for fuel). The letters direct the vendors to coordinate delivery logistics with the district’s head cook and transportation coordinator.
