Sarasota superintendent highlights districtwide A ratings and first-time school gains

Superintendent Terry Connor told the Sarasota County Schools podcast that the district made “incredible progress” during 2025–26, and that for the first time “todas nuestras escuelas administradas por el distrito tienen una calificación de A0B en el sistema de responsabilidad estatal.”
Connor said the district’s secondary schools are now uniformly rated A and noted that two schools earned their first A this year. He described the improvement as the result of setting high expectations, supporting teachers and putting systems in place to sustain progress. “Es la combinación de determinación, asegurarse de que cada estudiante tenga los recursos… y realmente crear los sistemas y procesos en todo el distrito,” he said.
The superintendent framed the ratings as part of a long-term legacy the district can use to plan for the coming year, saying the district will continue prioritizing classroom instruction and supports for teachers.
