District rolls out MyRide K12 app and adjusts bell schedule to ease bus circulation

Sarasota County Schools will introduce the MyRide K12 app this school year to provide families with real-time information on bus assignments and delays, Superintendent Terry Connor said on the district podcast. He said the tool will allow parents to see assigned bus information and receive immediate updates if a bus is delayed or a route changes: "оно позволит вам просматривать информацию о назначении автобуса для вашего ученика, а также получать обновления в реальном времени."
Connor also explained that districts statewide addressed a state law on start times; following community surveys Sarasota retained much of its schedule and made targeted adjustments to improve bus circulation. He gave the new standard bell times: high schools 7:30 a.m., elementary and K–8 schools 8:30 a.m., and middle schools 9:30 a.m., which the district expects will reduce bus turnaround conflicts across three tiers of routes.
The district asked families to download MyRide K12 and to review transportation plans before the first day of school.
