Sarasota County Schools mark 23rd consecutive A, district and middle schools hit historic milestones

Terry Connor, superintendent of Sarasota County Schools, said the district earned its 23rd consecutive A grade from the state accountability system, a milestone few districts have reached. “Since the inception of district grades, Sarasota County has reached its 23rd consecutive A,” Connor said, adding that “100% of our district managed schools are rated A or B on the state accountability system.”
Connor highlighted gains at the middle-school level, noting that “for our district managed middle schools, we can now be proud to say that 100% of them are rated A.” He singled out two campuses that reached their first A ratings — M.E. Booker and Booker Middle School — as examples of progress driven by resources, teacher support and consistent systems. The superintendent said the district will continue focusing on instructional supports and maintaining high expectations as it prepares for the 2026-27 school year.
The remarks were delivered in the Sarasota County Schools In Tune podcast episode that previews the coming year. Connor framed the achievement as a districtwide effort involving teachers, students and community partners and said it provides a legacy to build upon as the district implements new programs and opens facilities this fall.
