Behavioral health manager: coordinated entry screenings and Compass Pointe opening boosted housing placements

Victoria Reichert, the county's Behavioral Health Manager, told the subcommittee that coordinated entry nearly doubled screenings and that about 80% of those screened received diversion assessments designed to identify non-housing solutions when appropriate.
"Coordinated entry almost doubled the number of individuals being screened, with about 80 percent receiving diversion assessments," Reichert said, and she credited recent openings such as Compass Pointe Village for increasing moves into housing this year. She said the continuum of care is working on assessment changes that may improve accuracy of needs identification.
Reichert summarized FY26 funding for behavioral-health-related housing supports and outreach programs, including support for All Souls Counseling and community paramedicine. She said opioid-settlement funds paid about $151,000 this past year to address social determinants of health tied to housing and recovery supports and noted plans to use CDBG funds to expand recovery housing via a request-for-proposals process open through August 31.
The update concluded with a preview of planned opioid strategic plan revisions and an expectation that the county will continue to integrate behavioral health and housing services to support transitions from incarceration and to reduce homelessness.
