The board heard reports recognizing student and staff accomplishments at the Feb. 19 meeting. Assistant Superintendent Tiffany Whitsel summarized results from the Feb. 8 UIL Band Solo and Ensemble Contest at Smithville High School: multiple Rockdale High School students received Superior ratings, and a woodwind trio earned a Superior rating and is eligible to advance to the State Solo and Ensemble Contest in May.
Whitsel also announced January ROAR recipients, naming Ashlee Camp, Athletic Trainer, and Renee Clark, RHS CTE Teacher, and read nomination details praising Camp’s athlete-safety response and Clark’s energetic support of students. Whitsel thanked staff mentors and coaches for their leadership and noted the trio’s success will allow them to compete at the state level in May.
