Trustee David Budin briefed the board on the village's approach to short‑term rental regulation. He said the STR law "focuses on safety for renters and owners regarding emergency services. Parking rules and what to do in emergency situations." Budin noted there will be differences between the town and the village because Margaretville is more compact, and that the village would adopt the town rules with adjustments for local conditions.
No specific ordinance language was discussed in the Feb. 17 meeting and the board did not vote on changes. The board indicated staff will continue work on aligning regulations and return with proposed language or adjustments at a future meeting.
